Dundee United Community Trust (DUCT) is delighted to announce that the Northwood Charitable Trust has kindly provided a grant of £10,000 to support its charitable activities in the local community.

This generous funding means DUCT can now accelerate some plans to further develop the innovative Para-Sports Club project, setting the bar even higher in disability sports provision in Dundee and the surrounding areas. During the 12-month grant period, the Community Trust will be putting in place the building blocks of a progressive pathway including more school-based activities with Kingspark School, opportunities to try a variety of new sports, new sport specific clubs as well as supporting those who want to progress even further in local, regional and national competition.

The Community Trust’s Chief Executive, Jamie Kirk, commented, “Firstly, we’re really grateful for this support. The Northwood Charitable Trust has a rich history of supporting good causes, helping charities like ours bring their plans and ideas to life. I’m really excited to see what we can achieve together with this funding; the opportunities we plan to create will be life changing for our participants and their families."

Blair Thomson, Head of the Northwood Charitable Trust, said, "The Trust is delighted to be able to support Dundee United Community Trust in developing their Para-Sports Club project and we hope this will bring great enjoyment to those that take part."

Now that the weekly sessions are starting to resume following the phased lifting of restrictions, the Community Trust looks forward to announcing the next steps of this ambitious plan in the coming weeks.
